HARLEM, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Columbia County deputies say 18-year-old Savanah Haidyn Gavlinski was killed in a crash Friday afternoon on Appling Harlem Road.

Friends of the teen held a vigil for the teen at Harlem High School on Saturday night.

Caitlin Miller, Haidyn's best friend, said two qualities that made Haidyn, Haidyn were her laugh and always being late.

"Haidyn was never on time," Miller said.

Miller said even if her best friend was known for being late, Haidyn was also known for always answering her phone.

"Usually when I texted Haidyn, Haidyn would always replies back," Miller said.

Miller said when her friend stopped answering her texts Friday night she knew something was wrong. Haidyn died in crash around six o'clock.

Emma Morris, another of Haidyn's closes friends, said she drove by the accident not knowing her friend was involved.

"I was driving and there were cops everywhere," Morris said.

Miller said she's known Haidyn almost her whole life.

"She was there for me when no one else was, and she stuck by my side the whole time," Miller said.

The four friends said it's been a hard losing one of their best friends, but they are thankful for the memories they have to remember her by.

"Her laugh is so contagious. It would make you laugh for like hours," Miller said. "It was just amazing. I have never heard anyone's laugh like that in my life."

Haidyn's laugh is one of the many things they said they'll never forget.

"If I had to describe Haidyn in one word, it would be unforgettable," Holley Banks said.

Haidyn was supposed to graduate from Harlem High School this May.
