AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A suspect has been arrested in a stabbing that occurred on the 2400 block of Old Barton Chapel Road early Wednesday morning.

Investigators say Carlton Leigh Hattaway, 29, is being charged with aggravated assault. Deputies were called to the scene around 3:15 a.m. where they found Clyde Hinson stabbed in the abdomen on the front porch of a home.

Hinson told investigators that Hattaway pulled up in a vehicle and cursed at him before stabbing him with an unknown object. Hinson reportedly ran into the woods and kept running until he reached a house where he knocked on the door. A woman answered and called 911.

Another deputy found Hattaway's vehicle at the Gordon Highway Inn and took him into custody.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Deputies say a man has non-life threatening injuries after being stabbed on Old Barton Chapel Road.

They say the man was walking on the 2400 block of Old Barton Chapel Road when he was stabbed.

No word on if a suspect is in custody yet, we will update you as soon as we get more information.

Dispatchers say the call came in around 3:15 Wednesday morning. They say there is one victim. No word on the extent of their injuries.

Richmond County dispatch says deputies are currently looking for a suspect.
