Death of deployed Fort Gordon soldier under investigation

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Department of Defense announced the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.
A release shows Warrant Officer Travis R. Tamayo, 32, of Brownsville, Texas, died Sept. 16 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in a non-combat-related incident.
Tamayo was assigned to the 202nd Military Intelligence Battalion at Fort Gordon. The incident is under investigation.
