DEPUTIES| Two taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after crash on Washington Road

UPDATE 3:56p.m.

Two people were taken to the hospital for non life threatening injuries after an accident on Washington Road by Ronald Reagan Drive.

Deputies say a black pick-up truck was turning left out of the Kroger shopping center and did not see a gold car traveling up the middle lane. The pick-up truck hit the gold car.

The driver of the truck was at fault. Deputies charged the driver with driving without a license and failure to yield.

The driver and a passenger in the gold car were both taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Columbia County deputies are on the scene of an accident with injuries at Washington Road near Ronald Reagan Drive.

Dispatch says it was called in at 2:59 Saturday afternoon in front of the Kroger Shopping Center by Evans to Locks Road.

Only one lane is open on the eastbound side of Washington Road. Traffic is slowed on the other side of the road.

Deputies are asking people to avoid the area.
