UPDATE | Police: Wife says husband shot her, then himself

WILKES COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A couple is recovering at Augusta University Medical Center after a double shooting at a home on Oak Grove Road on Monday.

Grace Pascall told investigators that her husband, Dalton Pascall, was the shooter in the incident, and that they were the only people involved.

Investigators say it is still unclear what caused the shooting to happen. The condition of Mrs. Pascall is not being reported at this time.

Investigators have not been able to speak with Mr. Pascall, who remains in critical condition.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

WILKES COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Wilkes County Sheriff's Office has launched an investigation into a shooting at a home on Oak Grove Road Monday.

The shooting happened around 1:35 a.m. in Washington, Georgia. Deputies said they arrived and heard a gunshot and found a man, Dalton Pascall, in the back yard with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Inside the home, deputies said they found his wife, Grace Pascall, who was also shot.

Dalton and Grace were taken to the hospital for treatment and are still alive as of 5 p.m. Monday, according to the Wilkes County Sheriff's Office.

The Wilkes County Sheriff's Office and GBI are working together to investigate.
