Coroner investigating suspicious death, shots fired on April Drive in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Richmond County Sheriff's Office and the Coroner's Office are investigating a suspicious death of a female.
Officials were called to the scene on the 2800 block of April Drive around 8:00 p.m. for a shooting. When deputies arrived, the female victim, 24-year-old Karrie Braswell, was found with at least one gunshot wound. Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Braswell was pronounced dead at 8:50 p.m. from at least one gunshot wound. Braswell's body is being taken to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy.
