AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW/WAGT) -- City leaders are talking emergency repairs at

This comes after a new park inspection policy is pushed back again.

People say the gym roof has leaked at the center for years. Inspectors brought it up on nearly every monthly report in 2018. On Tuesday, so did Commissioner Bobby Williams.

"There have been some complaints about rain inside the gym. Gym floor is outdated. The rubber floor I don't think has been used in 20-30 years,” Williams said.

The public service committee recommended approving an estimated $200,000 for emergency renovations at Henry Brigham.

"We're going to have a significant upgrade with what happens with inspections, and if we do what we are supposed to, we can keep all our citizens safe,” Williams said.

But for now, when it rains, it will continue to pour at Henry Brigham.

Augusta commissioners are considering a new inspection policy. One of the big differences is risk management would do the inspections for every park, every month because of what they call "constant exposure to children and the public."
