FRESNO, CA (WRDW/WAGT) -- Sometimes, a story just fills your heart and writes itself. This is one of those stories.

The Fresno Police Department was called to the scene of an apparent theft back on March 16.

The victim? Josiah, a 7-year-old boy who told police that two other boys stole his brand new bicycle. He received the bike as a birthday gift just two weeks prior to the theft.

"Family members and the officers searched the surrounding area however were unable to find the bicycle or the boys who stole it," a Facebook post from the Fresno Police Department said.

So, what did the police do? Well, officers pooled their money and bought him a new bike.

"Josiah was very appreciative and posed for a picture with his new bicycle and newly found heroes," the post said.
