Burke County deputies looking for armed robbery suspect

BURKE COUNTY, GA (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Burke County Sheriff's Office and Waynesboro Police Department are looking for a man wanted for an armed robbery.

Deputies say 34-year-old Madison Antonio Lewis of Waynesboro is the suspect of an armed robbery at the Burke Haven Corner Store Saturday night.

Deputies say the incident happened at 10:23 p.m. on the 600 block of West 6th Street in Waynesboro. Clerks at the store told officers that the suspect entered the business with a firearm demanding money from the registers.

The suspect was last seen wearing a blue Adidas Pullover, black cargo pants, white Jordan shoes, a light blue face mask, white and grey socks over his hands, and was in possession of a black semi-automatic handgun. He was last seen running north across W. 6th Street towards Gilstrap Ave.

Lewis is wanted for the charges of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and unlawful street gang activity.
