BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Burke County Sheriff's Office says two of their officers are now better protected, thanks to generous donations.

K-9 officers Juna and Leo now have ballistic vests by LOF Defense Systems to keep them safe in the line of duty each and every day.

The two vests were paid for through donations to the Georgia Police K-9 Foundation, and they are designed to give the best possible protection to the officers from bullets and knives.

“We love our K-9 partners and are very grateful to the Georgia Police K-9 Foundation for their help and assistance,” stated Sheriff Alfonzo Williams.

Both Juna and Leo are trained in patrol and apprehension, narcotics detection, and tracking. The two have helped out in a number of drug busts, as well as helped find missing persons.

These protective vests will better help the tough pups do their jobs effectively and safely.

Congrats to Juna and Leo!
