UPDATE | Coroner: Bamberg couple died from gunshot wounds

BAMBERG COUNTY, SC (WRDW/WAGT) -- Following an autopsy, the coroner confirms the missing couple from Bamberg Janis Quintero Natos and Jamell Reggie Carter died from gunshot wounds.

At this time the coroner cannot confirm how many times the couple was shot.

SLED is still investigating this case.

BAMBERG COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Sunday, January 6, 2019

The Bamberg County Coroner's Office confirms the two bodies found in Rivers Bridge State Park are those of the missing couple, 35-year-old Janis Quintero Natos and 38-year-old Jamell Reggie Carter.

The coroner says the cause of death is still unknown at this time due to the decomposition of the bodies, but that information should be released in the next week.

The couple was last seen on December 12th.

BAMBERG COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- SLED is assisting in an investigation after officials say two bodies were found in Bamberg County.

Rangers say the bodies were found around 8 a.m. in Rivers Bridge State Park.

The bodies are being sent in for an autopsy. Further information from the autopsy will not be ready until next week.
