WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- 7:42 p.m.
Burke County officials say Ebenezer Church Road is back open after a fatal single-vehicle car crash around 3:00 p.m. Sunday. Georgia Power has more work to do near the scene but have fixed priority issues.

The victim in the crash is 43-year-old Earl Drayton of Barnwell, South Carolina. Officials say he was an employee at Plant Vogtle. They say speed was an issue and that Drayton was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

"Sheriff Alfonzo Williams and the entire Burke County Sheriff’s Office extend their condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Drayton." said Chief Deputy Lewis Blanchard.

4:41 p.m. Burke County officials are on the scene of a single vehicle crash that killed one man near Plant Vogtle.

Officials say the accident happened just after 3:00 p.m. on Ebenezer Church Road, about a half-mile away from Jack Delaigle Road near Plant Vogtle. Burke County EMA transported the driver to Burke County Hospital where he died from his injuries.
