AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says the driver of the school bus is at fault for the crash Monday morning.

Deputies say the driver did not yield at a stop sign, causing the crash.

There were two people in the Nissan Rouge, and they are both being treating at Augusta University Medical Center.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The lanes closed on Peach Orchard Road have been reopened after an accident Monday morning.

Deputies say the driver of the school bus involved in the accident is at fault.


AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Richmond County deputies are on the scene of an accident with injuries on Peach Orchard Road and Morning Drive.

According to dispatchers, there are two lanes blocked near the accident scene. They did not have any information on the extent of the injuries.

According to our reporter on the scene, deputies are saying a Richmond County Schools bus was trying to turn left from Morning Drive onto Peach Orchard. A Nissan Rogue struck the bus, severely damaging the vehicle. There was some damage to the bus, according to law enforcement.

Deputies say the driver of the Nissan was significantly injured, they didn't say what exactly those injuries were. According to law enforcement the bus driver is okay.

School officials say there were no students on board the bus at the time of the accident.
