(WRDW/WAGT) -- President Trump made headlines Christmas morning after a phone conversation with a 7-year-old girl on Christmas Eve.

The president is recorded in the Oval Office chatting on the phone as part of NORAD's Santa Tracker program. He answers one call from little Collman Lloyd.

In the phone call, President Trump comes dangerously close to making a major Christmas faux-pas.

"Are you still a believer in Santa? Because at 7, it's marginal right?"

Collman's family is originally from Augusta, and they were paying a visit on Christmas Day. News 12 caught up with them to chat about the phone call, and give us her side of the story.

"I said, 'yes sir, I want to ask where Santa is in the world.' He said 'instead of getting a special scientist to do it, how about the president?'" Collman told us all about the special call she placed to NORAD.

Her parents were shocked to find out who their daughter was talking to.

When President Trump asked that big Santa question, Collman's mom said it all worked out.

"It all rolled over, she was fine. But it did make me a little nervous at first. I was a little shocked that he asked but it was fine.

All in all, Collman says it was the perfect Christmas Eve surprise.
