ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Being home for the holidays is just not possible for some children and their families, so every year Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska brings the holidays to its patients.
Santa Claus has visited the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for the past 29 years.
It's not easy with a baby in the NICU. They're usually premature with a host of medical problems. So, Santa's visit comes at a time when his tiniest believers need him most.
"When we found out he was coming here, we were both really excited," said Emily Fuller, mom to 16-day-old Seamus. "We were like, 'Hey, he's actually going to get his first picture with Santa this year."
"It's the greatest job I've ever had," said Santa. "It's not really a job but a way of life and this is my favorite place. There's miracles and there's angels and they're both right here so that's why I do it."
