Celia Palermo brought her spunky, fun-loving, but get-down-to-business attitude to WRDW News 12 in July of 2017 as a multimedia journalist.
After many hours, days, and weeks spent in the journalism school building, Palermo graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Public Affairs Journalism and Sports Management, and Sports Media certificate.
Palermo grew up in Southern California, where she discovered her love for theater, public speaking, and crime -- which translated to her dream of being a reporter. She took that dream to UGA and jumped at any opportunity to volunteer at Grady Newsource, UGA’s student news station. That lead to her producing, anchoring, and reporting for the station over her sophomore, junior, and senior years.
Celia brought with her extensive experience working in the field, too. She interned at WLTZ NBC 38 in the sports department, Scout Media Networks in the editorial department, Swish Appeal as a reporter, and ESPNU Campus Connection as a correspondent.
With a quick wit, and a knack for thinking on her feet, Palermo tackles all kinds of stories from features, profiles, hard news, and breaking news with style, finesse, and accuracy. She’s excited to report in the CSRA and can’t wait to hit the ground running.
When she’s not reporting, you can find her working out, watching sports, or hanging out with her family and friends. If you have a tip or a story idea, don’t hesitate to shoot her an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet her @CeliaWRDW.
