Alexa Lightle joined the News 12 NBC 26 News team as a Multimedia Journalist in June of 2017 after graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Telecommunications-News.
She first discovered her love for news when she anchored her high school morning announcements. She was able to further her dream of becoming a reporter when she started at the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications. Alexa was a multimedia journalist and anchor for UF’s PBS affiliate WUFT.
During her college years, Alexa spent time at one of South Florida’s premier television stations NBC 6 in Miami, Florida as a news intern writing and editing stories for their various newscasts. She also spent a summer working at WPBF 25 in West Palm Beach, Florida writing stories and learning from reporters in her hometown.
Alexa is from Lake Worth, Florida. As a South Florida native, she enjoys going to the beach, being in the sunshine, and hanging out by the water. Two of her favorite activities are adventuring with her family and watching reality TV.
