Weekday mornings from 4:30-7:00 a.m.
Brooke's passion for news came early when she watched her local news station as a young girl. Every time she saw the reporters out in the field she'd think, "I want to be that woman. What do I have to do to become that woman."
Since grade school, Brooke knew she wanted to pursue a career in journalism. Brooke is a proud Wisconsin native. She grew up in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin -- about an hour north of Milwaukee.
Brooke Zauner joined the WRDW and WAGT news team in June 2016 after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Concordia University Chicago. She has a degree in Communication with a minor in Journalism. Brooke has extensive internship experience, including working at CBS 2 Chicago in the special projects unit, Fox 11 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and NBC 13 in Rockford, Illinois. Although she enjoyed all her internship experiences, the most exciting one was working at CNN in Washington, D.C. during a highly dynamic political season.
In August 2018, Brooke was promoted to anchor News 12 This Morning.
When Brooke isn't working, she enjoys eating a hearty brunch, drinking coffee, working out, reading, spending time with family, and trying new things. She's excited to get to know the people, places, and stories that make the CSRA so special! She's also excited to enjoy a snow-free winter (fingers crossed).
