Dan Booth was born and raised just outside New York City in Hartsdale, New York. He's excited to be a part of the Augusta community and tell stories that go beyond the X's and the O's.
Before joining the News 12 team, Dan was the Weekend Sports Anchor for BCH Sports at KTAB News and KRBC News in Abilene, Texas. During his time in Abilene, Dan covered multiple Texas High School Football State Championship games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Followed two High School Softball teams along their journey to the State Final Four at the University of Texas in Austin. Chronicled Abilene Christian University's sports teams, including their men's basketball teams' upset win over the Texas Longhorns in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2021. While also spending time as a News Anchor and Reporter throughout the early stages of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Dan earned his master's degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. While on campus, Dan had the opportunity to cover Syracuse's football, basketball, soccer, softball, and lacrosse teams. To finish is graduate degree, Dan interned in the Sports Department at WPRI-12 News in Providence, Rhode Island. Dan helped cover the New England Patriots during training camp.
He earned his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York College at Cortland. Dan was an English Major with a double minor in Communications and Sports Studies. He put his degree to good use by joining SUNY Cortland's college radio station WSUC 90.5FM. For more than two years, Dan hosted his own sports talk show, and served as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Red Dragon Sports Network.
In addition to his unrelenting love for sports, Dan also nerds out on anything related to Marvel, "Game of Thrones," "Lord of the Rings," "Harry Potter," "Breaking Bad," "Survivor, The Walking Dead" and much more!
