Laura Warren

Weeknight Anchor/Investigative Journalist
Augusta, GA
Laura Warren

Laura's mom says her follow up question to anything she was told growing up was, 'Why?' It's a habit that turned into a career. She continues to ask that question as an investigative journalist.

Laura graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in December 2011 with a degree in Broadcast News. While in school, she anchored, reported and produced for Newsource 15, which at that time, was the only television news outlet for 26 counties in northeast Georgia.

She interned for News 12 during the summer of 2011, where she fell in love with Augusta and its fast paced news scene.

News 12 offered her a job in November 2011, reporting on the weekends before she graduated in December and became a full time reporter. A little over a year later, she started co-anchoring the First at Five newscast with Richard Rogers.

Two and a half years later, she began anchoring the evening news at 6:00PM and 11:00PM with Richard Rogers.

During her time as a reporter in Augusta she has covered breaking news from tornadoes, floods, ice storms, and plane crashes to investigative pieces into sex trafficking, wrongdoing by police and government agencies.

She has won numerous awards including the Associated Press's Award for Best Anchor/Reporter as well as an Investigative Reporting award for an investigation into questionable hiring practices by a local police agency.

Laura is on the North Augusta Family Y Board of Directors. In her spare time, she loves cheering on the Dawgs, playing golf, traveling with her husband, and cooking.
