Kennedi Harris

Kennedi is a South Carolina native from Spartanburg. After graduating high school in Columbia, SC, Kennedi went on to pursue her newfound passion for journalism. She graduated, Cum Laude, with a B.A. in Mass Communication from Winthrop University in May 2020.

Throughout her time at Winthrop, Kennedi served as an Anchor/Reporter for Winthrop Close Up news show and as Vice President of Winthrop's award-winning student chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. In 2018, Kennedi was awarded the Excellence Awards scholarship by the Charlotte-Area Association of Black Journalists for her hard work and dedication towards pursuing her goals. Kennedi's journalism career began as an intern at WIS-News 10 in Columbia, SC and she later interned at WBTV in Charlotte, NC. During her internships, Kennedi sharpened her storytelling skills and she covered topics such as crime, storm damage and feature stories.

When she's not working, Kennedi enjoys painting, watching crime TV shows, yoga, spending time with her family and drinking sweet tea. She joined the WRDW team in June 2020 as a MMJ. Kennedi is excited to make Augusta her new home and to tell the stories of the CSRA.
