Anchor/Reporter
Augusta, GA
Briana Collier

Briana is a Saluki alum graduating from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale where she earned her bachelor's degree of Arts. Majoring in Radio-Television and digital media, Briana also minored in speech communication. Before diving into her television career, she worked in radio at iHeartMedia in Chicago alongside several radio and DJ legends. From there she spent two years in the Quad Cities at WHBF-TV/KLJB as a multimedia journalist and fill in anchor. There she covered news on both sides of the Mississippi River in Illinois and Iowa, everything from tornados, snowstorms and her first polar vortex. She also got the opportunity to interview some state, local and federal leaders including, now, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and former ambassador to China Terry Branstad.

Though she loved being just a few hours from home, Briana decided to trade in her snow boots and ditch the cold weather for the beach and made her way to the hostess city of Savannah where she fell in love with the peach state’s southern hospitality and gourmet food. While there she spent two years as the weekend morning anchor and reporter at WTOC-TV where she earned an Emmy nomination for team coverage of an officer memorial. She covered stories in Georgia and the South Carolina low country, including her first hurricane; Dorian. She also covered the historic senate runoff race, among dozens of protests that took place.

When Briana is not on TV informing viewers and showing a little personality, as a former basketball player she enjoys coaching. She had the opportunity to coach high school and middle school girls both in the Quad Cities and Savannah. Briana is excited to call Augusta and the CSRA home and immerse herself into the culture and see what it has to offer. She loves trying new restaurants, spending time cuddling with her Cavapoo puppy Bentley, or catching a pickup basketball game at any local gym. She also loves meeting new people, so if you see her out and about don’t be afraid to stop and say Hi! You can catch her anchoring every morning from 4:30am-7am and Midday at 12pm. In the meantime, follow her on social media!
