Originally from New England, Anthony Carpino joins the WRDW Weather Team as the Weekend Meteorologist and multimedia journalist.
Anthony attended school at Lyndon State College, now known as Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, and received a Bachelors of Science in Atmospheric Science and an Associates of Science in Electronic Journalism Arts. Anthony gained experience at News 7, the college TV station, where he provided live weather forecasts to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. He covered all types of weather ranging from winter snowstorms to severe thunderstorms. His most memorable weather event was a 3-5 day period of freezing fog where everything from the grass to the trees was coated in a thin layer of white rime ice. He's excited to take a break from Vermont winters and looks forward to winter in the CSRA. Anthony also gained experience while at NBC Connecticut as a weather intern during the summer of 2018. While at NBC he created weather graphics and participated in severe weather coverage including tornado coverage.
When Anthony isn't at work you can find him outside hiking, boating, or looking through his telescope at the night sky. His favorite TV shows are "The Walking Dead" and "Parks and Recreation". When it comes down to sports you can find him rooting for his favorite Boston sports teams.
He's looking forward to getting to know the CSRA, feel free to reach out via email or social media!
