37-year-old killed in Hephzibah shooting; woman arrested
HEPHZIBAH, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - One man was killed after he was shot in Hephzibah, according to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office and Hephzibah Police Department responded to the 2400 block of Carroll Drive for shots fired around 11 p.m. Saturday, officials say.
Victim identified in fatal stabbing on Edgefield Highway in Aiken County
- One person is dead after a stabbing near Trenton on Friday, according to authorities. The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office says deputies are investigating a disturbance with a knife on the 2700 block of Edgefield Highway.

According to deputies, when they arrived, they found two victims, a male and a female who were both shot at least one time.
Both victims were taken to Wellstar MCG by EMS, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Officials say 37-year-old Eric Council was pronounced dead at 11:44 p.m.
Authorities say 38-year-old Constance Jenkins, who was not injured, was arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
The shooting comes amid an outbreak of violent crime that’s claimed more than 170 lives in a little over two years across the CSRA.
The crime outbreak has affected communities large and small, but as the biggest city in the region, Augusta has been hit especially hard.
Authorities have blamed much of the problem on gangs.
