First look inside Dave & Buster’s new location in Augusta
We’ve been watching it come out of the ground for months, and the opening day is almost here for Dave & Buster’s.
The entertainment hop spot right next door to News 12 let our Laura Warren and her 4-year-old John Michael, as well as Nick Proto, inside for a sneak peek.
“Dave & Buster’s, we’re all about fun,” General Manager George Dey said. “Games for all ages. Whether you’re 4 years old or older, we all like to have fun. bringing fun to the community.”
There were plenty of games for all ages. That made John Michael happy.
So many games -- racing games, dodgeball games, Jurassic Park games. And then there’s the prizes-
“Yay, rubber duckies!” John Michael said. “I love this game!”
Nick also won a princess duck with a lollipop.
And it’s not just about the games. They have a full-service bar and restaurant, too.
What are Dey’s favorites on the menu?
“Korean sticky ribs, chimichurri bowl, spicy taco burger -- one of my all-time favorites is the chocolate cake,” he said.
John Michael approved of that one.
“I love that this is going to be here every day,” he said.
By the way, John Michael is not being paid by Dave & Buster’s. He’s just a very enthusiastic fan.
As is Nick.
“That’s pretty good,” he said of the sticky rib.
And last but certainly not least, it’s a great place to catch a sports game.
“We have 40 screens,” Dey said. “It can be one big screen or up to nine individual ones,” Dey said.
The Georgia game will probably look great in there.
“It’s going to be beautiful,” Dey said.
So whether you want to grab a bite, a drink, catch the game or play some games, It’s a great new spot for some good times.
John Michael hopes to come back.
“I love Dave & Buster’s,” he said. “Thank you for bringing us, God.”
The good news is you won’t have to wait long to enjoy all the action. Dave & Buster’s opens Monday at 11 a.m.
