AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We’re following up with the Richmond County School System after a fight was caught on camera.

Nikki Martin says a student assaulted her daughter at Hephzibah Middle School, and she says it isn’t the first time. Mom tells us she’s scared to send her daughter back to school.

Martin says her daughter has been bullied and harassed since September and says this has to stop so her daughter will no longer live in fear.

“It made me feel horrible, horrible as a parent,” said Martin.

Martin says students at Hephzibah Middle school have been bullying and attacking her daughter for months.

“I contacted Hephzibah Middle’s assistant principal. I let her know of my concerns and that the kids had written their names on her new shoes. I was told the issue would be resolved.

But last Wednesday, her daughter was attacked. Martin says seeing this video makes them feel helpless.

“In reality, I can’t prevent another person’s actions, but I can make sure that the proper procedure takes place so that this won’t happen to anyone else’s child,” said Martin.

These past few months have taken a toll on her daughter mentally. She’s been hospitalized four times.

“Making threats, calling her names, making her feel low, telling her she should die, and it just weighed so heavy on her, and she couldn’t cope,” she said.

Mom says she wants to see change. We reached out to Richmond County School District, and we have not heard back. The mother did tell us she filed a report with the Department of Juvenile Justice.

“First, I would like the bully to receive some help. The bully should be removed from school,” said Martin.
