EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Greenbrier inks another Division I football player as lineman Collin Dudley committed to Presbyterian College Thursday.

While many players spend their whole young careers dreaming of signing a college scholarship, Dudley said he didn’t even have dreams of playing football. He said his dad convinced him to give it a shot his freshman year, and said he could stop after the season if he didn’t like it.

Dudley stuck with it. But even after his sophomore year, he said recruitment wasn’t something he gave a lot of thought to.

As he signed his NLI Thursday, he took some time to give thanks. He thanked his family, his coaches, his teammates, and football itself for molding him into the player and young man he is today.

“It’s improved me academically, athletically, socially,” he said. “But it’s done a lot to improve my confidence by helping me like my body again. Just making me have confidence. It’s important because everyone should have that type of confidence. It allows you to do things that you wouldn’t be possible.”
