Car drives off I-20 bridge into Augusta Canal

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A vehicle crashed this morning into the Augusta canal bridge on I-20EB. According to GDOT, traffic isn’t impacted and there are no injuries reported so far.
The Department of Transportation says superior construction will place barrels on top of the brush curb, and come back later when the weather is suitable to repair.
The agency says the car has now been removed.
They are not aware of what contributed to the accident. Details are limited at this time, but this article will be updated as they become available.
