AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An incident on Broad Street early Saturday morning has people scratching their heads.

Video and photos released by crash victims and witnesses show a white Jeep SUV flee the scene of a crash, only to hit several more cars a few feet away. Witnesses say anywhere between three to five cars were damaged.

Video obtained by News 12 shows deputies questioning the man and woman in the Jeep, but people on the scene say they were not arrested. A check of recent Richmond County jail bookings shows no people matching the man or woman’s description were taken into custody for any traffic-related violations.

Crash victims also tell News 12 that Richmond County deputies would not give them information about who hit their cars.

News 12 reached out to RCSO for comment. The on-duty public information officer said, “I have not received any information about this and the driver can contact internal affairs Monday morning if he wishes to file a complaint.”

We are working to get the incident report from RCSO.
