AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A mobile app will help Aiken County parents track their kids’ school bus, potentially increasing safety and convenience.

The “Here Comes the Bus” mobile app is available for download via the Apple Store or the Google Play Store.

Parents will need Aiken County Public Schools’ district code, 29333, as well as their child’s unique state student ID number to utilize the app.

Parents may access their child’s state student ID number via the parent portal under the “Transportation” tab. Parents and guardians who do not have access to the parent portal should contact their home school to request that information.

The app will let students stay in their homes until their bus is closer, avoiding long waits in bad weather.

The new app will provide the same benefits during the afternoon commute, giving parents and caregivers a heads-up on when the bus will be arriving.
