NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Separate crashes Wednesday morning caused traffic backups in both directions of Interstate 20 near the state line.

In the latest wreck, a crash closed the right eastbound lane just across the Savannah River bridge in South Carolina, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

Traffic was moving slowly around midday starting on the Georgia side of the state line.

Earlier, a collision involving four tractor-trailers caused a traffic backup on westbound Interstate 20 a little farther into South Carolina.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded around 9:30 a.m. to the crash near mile marker 3, about a mile west of Edgefield Road.

No injuries are reported at this time.
