Daily forecast | The latest from WRDW/WAGT Meteorologist Mikel Hannah-Harding
Heavy rainfall expected this evening and tonight. Monitoring the potential for flash flooding as well.
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We started off Saturday foggy and misty across much of the CSRA. Other than the chance for a few showers this morning and early this afternoon, the first half of the day should be relatively dry before a stalled cold from is overridden by an area of low pressure providing more rain this evening and tonight into early Sunday morning. Highs will be warm again today in the upper 60s to near 70. Rain totals by Sunday morning could add up to 2-3″ for some areas.
The Weather Prediction Center has most of the CSRA under a slight risk (2/5) for flash flooding this evening and there also is a flash flood watch in effect for some of our northern, central, and eastern CSRA counties until 6 AM Sunday morning.
We are expected to finally see dry conditions again by Sunday as high pressure builds in over the region. Highs on Sunday will be comfortable in the low 60s.
Nice weather looks to hang around for the first half of next week with highs in the upper 50s and mid to low 60s Monday through Wednesday. Rain chances look possible by next Thursday before we dry out heading into next weekend. Keep it here for updates.
