AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An accident Wednesday on Interstate 20 caused traffic to back up near the Georgia and South Carolina state lines.

Around 5:30 p.m., Richmond County dispatch confirmed eastbound lanes were closed due to a multi-vehicle accident near Interstate 20 and Riverwatch Parkway. Officials also closed the eastbound on-ramp to Riverwatch to I-20 as a result.

Dispatchers said multiple vehicles were involved. Officials said no one was killed, but some people complained of minor injuries from the wreck.

The Georgia Department of Transportation reported the area cleared up after 7 p.m.

A News 12 viewer sent a video of the multi-vehicle accident that left eastbound lanes closed on I-20 and Riverwatch Pkwy.
