AIKEN COUNTY, Sc. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office confirms a man and a woman are dead after a shooting at 43 Louise Street around 7 p.m. Saturday evening.

The Aiken County Coroner says 43-year-old Lacy Boyd and her 51-year-old boyfriend were pronounced dead inside the home. The boyfriend will be identified once the family has been notified.

Officials say the shooting stemmed from a disturbance that occurred at the home earlier.

Later that evening, at 8:57 p.m., deputies say they located the potential murder suspect driving on East Pine Log Road and Whiskey Road. They say they attempted to conduct a felony traffic stop, when the suspect fled and a pursuit ensued.

Investigators say the suspect’s vehicle got stuck at East Pine Log Road and Northwood Drive, and the suspect fired several rounds at Sheriff’s Office deputies and Aiken Public Safety officers. Law enforcement officials returned fire, and struck the suspect at least two times.
