Trump to visit Atlanta today in 9th trip to Peach State as president
ATLANTA (WRDW/WAGT) - President Donald Trump will be Atlanta today to announce a new policy designed to speed up infrastructure projects.
His administration says it’ll be rolling out major actions to speed up overdue construction in Georgia and across the country — including alleviating congestion along Interstate 75.
This afternoon, the president will be at a major UPS hub in metro Atlanta where officials hope to reduce traffic so goods can move faster through the state.
The president will be in the state for about an hour and a half in his ninth visit to Georgia since taking office.
U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., will be traveling with Trump to the state and will attend the president’s event at the airport hub in Hapeville, Georgia.
“I’m thrilled that President Trump has Georgia on his mind during this critical time,” Loeffler said in a statement. “As the number one state for business and the home to the Port of Savannah and the world’s busiest airport, Georgia is the perfect spot for President Trump to discuss investing in America’s transportation. I applaud President Trump’s commitment to delivering real relief and results for the Peach State’s hardworking families, small businesses, farmers and veterans, and I look forward to joining him.”
