Club Car closed until Thursday over employee cases of COVID-19
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - After three employees tested positive for COVID-19, Club Car will be closed through Thursday to allow a deep clean and sanitization of facilities.
A spokesperson for the company released this statement to News 12:
“The health and safety of our employees is our top priority at Club Car. We’ve taken many proactive measures over the last few months to safeguard our employees’ health, including recommendations and requirements issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other local and national government and health authorities. These include, among other measures, a mandatory face covering policy; health screening self-declaration forms; temperature screenings upon arrival; sanitizing and cleaning throughout the facility; and implementing social distancing procedures, such as eliminating congregation in group areas, staggering shifts and breaks, reconfiguring works spaces to allow appropriate separation, performing routine audits for PPE, distancing and sanitation, and eliminating all non-essential site employees and visitors. Despite these rigorous efforts, three employees – two at our Evans, Ga. facility and one at the Club Car Distribution Center (CCDC) in Appling, Ga. – have confirmed cases of COVID-19. After being informed of the confirmed cases, the employees are quarantined at home along with those who were identified through contact tracing and, out of an abundance of caution, we have closed these areas of our operations to conduct a deep clean and sanitization with a plan to resume operations on Thursday, July 16.
