Job Title: Small Arms Repairer

Duties: Position requires that applicants possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid Class C driver’s license and 36 months of experience in one of the following disciplines: weapons repair, electro-mechanical or mechanical maintenance, remote target system, operation or maintenance. Under general supervision, inspects, maintains and repairs all types of small arms up to and including .50 caliber weapons. Determines general condition of the weapons, the nature of the malfunction, and repairs as required to ensure proper tolerances and function. Performs direct support and general support level field and shop maintenance on the target interface device, infantry target mechanism, infantry moving target carrier, hostile fire simulator, muzzle flash simulator, and all power/control units associated with the remote target system. Tests, installs, recondition, troubleshoot and repairs the electronical malfunctions in target systems (i.e., electronic control amplifier, bunker and carrier power distribution control unit, target interface units, infantry moving target control, electronic control unit, electronic motor and target mechanisms, etc.). Uses blueprints, wiring diagrams, manufacturer's booklet, parts lists, etc. to determine trouble. Repairs or replaces defective parts such as relays, switches, rectifiers, diodes, transistors, resistors, and capacitors. Performs maintenance on control modules, adjusting rheostat and setting timing. Runs operational checks by using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, millimeters, logic probes, etc. Repairs basic remote control/switching devices used to activate range targetry. Fabricates and repairs sensor cable assemblies. Practices good housekeeping in work areas, observes safety, security and fire prevention rules and regulations. Coordinates with and advises lead repairer on maintenance status, equipment requirements, problem areas and corrective action. Performs other duties as assigned.

Will haul in a 100 mile radius of Augusta. Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations. Drives truck to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.
