Hurricane Sandy Update - 9 p.m.

From Metorologist Vicki Graf: Sandy has made landfall as a post-tropical cyclone along the coast of southern New Jersey. Don't let the fact that it is no longer a hurricane/tropical storm fool you. It essentially has transitioned from a tropical storm system to a powerful nor'easter. It has max winds of 80 mph (which would be the equivalent of a category 1 hurricane) and is moving to the WNW at 21 mph.

The latest I have heard was 3.5 million people without power from North Carolina to Maine.

Blizzard warnings are in effect across the Appalachians where they could see 12-18 inches in areas that are above 2,500 feet.
