ATLANTA (AP) — A survey team from the National Weather Service has determined that an EF-2 tornado raced across Harris County in west Georgia during Wednesday's powerful thunderstorms.
The weather service said in a statement that wind speeds from the twister were estimated at 125 mph around the town of Hamilton.
The storm damaged a high school and a government building and injured two people.

Elsewhere in Georgia, a Suwanee man was killed when a tree crushed his SUV north of Atlanta. He was one of at least six people killed as the storm system moved across the Southeast.
