MARTINEZ, Ga. (WRDW) -- People living in a Columbia County neighborhood are having a hard time getting where they need to go today.
A massive sinkhole opened up under Lakestone Court in the Barrington subdivision off Stevens Creek Road. Crews have closed the road to make repairs.
There are about 20 houses on the other side of the sinkhole and some homeowners are unable to get around it. Some families are not able to get back home.
The heavy rains this week are what caused the ground to open up, and with more rain expected, the situation is getting even worse.
