AIKEN CTY., S.C. -- The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down Friday afternoon near the Aiken County line that borders Lexington County.

News 12 has storm reports between Wagener and Fairview on Highway 113.

Wagener Mayor Mike Miller says no one was injured. He says he spoke with a man who was probably one of the only residents home at the time, and he was doing just fine.

The tornado touched down at the intersection of Sand Dam and Cline Taylor roads in Aiken County just south of the Lexington County line and then continued to move northeast into Greens Bridge and Charles Town roads.

A home was completely destroyed from the tornado. Nobody was inside at the time because a woman who lived there recently passed away. Neighbors say the tornado passed by their houses and landed on hers. The family of the deceased is looking at the damage.

The NWS reports the tornado hit at 1:07 p.m.

One viewer reports damages can be seen for at least a quarter mile on Hwy 113 with debris littering the road and yards.
