AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Michael Morgan's home has survived more than 80 years and four generations in his family. It's apparent that it will take more than some snow to break that up.
"I was standing right here on the porch watching the snow, and I hear this crack and I look up and I see this tree limb coming toward me," he said.
Columbia County Crews have their own mess. Workers chopped a large limb that fell near Evans To Locks Road.
In Richmond county, some drivers were forced to the wrong side of the road to avoid debris.
"Everybody was excited Friday, and now it's like, 'OK, now we gotta deal with it.'"
Beginning Friday for storm preparations, Columbia County workers logged more than 200 hours of overtime. According to early estimates, taxpayers will pay about $4,000 dollars for labor and equipment.
"It's a little bit hectic, but we're trying to get everything safe," said Columbia County Supervisor Bill Manders.
Richmond County says there are 58 trees down, and before they can get to all of them, they're marking them with orange markers and yellow caution tape to alert you to be careful.
Richmond County taxpayers look to pay a little bit more for clean-up. About $4,500 dollars for materials and overtime.
When: Saturday, Feb. 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Evans Government Center.
