ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Morning frost is covering the Carolinas, and some parts of the region are seeing temperatures below the freezing mark.

The National Weather Service has issued a frost warning until 9 a.m. Monday for most of North and South Carolina. The western counties of both states face a freeze warning, and Asheville recorded temperatures of 30 degrees at 7 a.m.

Forecasters expect sunny skies across the region as temperatures rise about 25 degrees through the day. Temperatures will fall again overnight, and another frost advisory already is in place for Tuesday morning.
