AUGUSTA, Ga.---Three local American Red Cross volunteers are on their way to Texas to help with Hurricane Ike relief efforts. They left the local chapter Wednesday morning with an emergency response vehicle (ERV).
They will join over 100 other ERV units helping in Texas.
Reid Wakeley, Allen Morris and Paul Grice are all veteran local volunteers.
The ERV units travel through a disaster area providing food and other services for affected people. They also carrying items such as comfort kits, water and other supplies.
