AUGUSTA, Ga.---The overnight and morning rainfall amounted to about 1.3 inches at Bush Field airport.

Before Tuesday night, the level at Lake Thurmond was over 13 feet below normal. That's the lowest level in six years.

The Army Corps of Engineers plans to move more water than normal from Lake Hartwell down to Lake Thurmond. That should happen later this month.

Lake Thurmond is used to manage the Savannah River's water level. Much of this immediate area gets its drinking water from the river or its offshoot, the Augusta Canal.
