AUGUSTA, Ga.---This afternoon's wild weather is causing lots of problems. You've probably been hit by lots of rain, thunder and lightning.

The Regions Bank on Washington Road near the Evans Government Complex caught fire, presumably after being hit by lightning. Fortunately, everyone was evacuated with no injuries. The damage was confined to the decorative steeple where the lightning presumably hit.

The heavy rains also caused flooding. A manhole cover blew on Reynolds Street at 15th Street. There's also flooding at University Hospital.

In Aiken, Richland Avenue was flooded for a time, but is now clear.

Did you see any storm damage? Let us know in the comments.

Our apartment at Merrick Place was flooded due to the rain and construction going on in the next apartments behind us. There was several people that had been flooded. There were several trees down in the West Augusta area.

We have a large number of trees snapped in half here at Springhouse Apartments. Others were uprooted, another tree fell on some cars, light post down, large limbs everywhere, tops of a few trees missing on one side, while the trees in the back and around our pond were snapped or uprooted...it happened about 10-15 minutes into the storm, a sudden wind started which instantly began rotating, throwing limbs and branches everywhere (mid air), it lasted about a minute...none of our neighbors (in a one block radias) sustained any damage (downed trees, limbs, branches etc). The road construction signs inside the apartments were totally thrashed while less than 200 feet away (where they are doing the road construction) the signs were untouched...If I didn't know better, we had to have been hit by a funnel.
