JACKSON, Tenn. - Students at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee ducked into bathrooms and huddled together while a tornado tore their campus apart.

Union University Student Andrew Norman says, "I opened the door, and we could see that the swirling wind, slammed the door, ran into the bathroom, then you just saw the pressure drop out and like you just get chills. then the windows exploded and all this dirt came flying in. I've never been through anything like it for sure."

About 50 students were taken to the hospital after Tuesday night's storm, nine of them with serious injuries.

At least eight students were trapped in the wreckage until rescuers could dig them out.
