AIKEN, S.C. -- Don’t be alarmed by all of the public services vehicles that were at LBC Middle School Monday.
The school held its first Public Safety Awareness day in their gymnasium.
Law enforcement, paramedics, forensics and other organizations were present to give students the opportunity to ask questions and interact with many of the displays.
For a first-time event, there was much interest displayed by students. The kids even had the opportunity to interact with some of the exhibits and hands-on activities.
The purpose of this awareness day was to prepare middle school students for possible career choices after graduation and to acknowledge the duties of the men and women who serve and protect the community.
