AIKEN, S.C. -- Among Coca-Cola calendars and Carolina’s culture on canvas, Jim Harrison was at USC Aiken today along with other works of art.

Harrison, originally from Denmark, S.C., is a licensed artist for the Coca-Cola Company and creates artwork reflecting the peaceful, rural setting around the Palmetto State.

Harrison was greatly influenced by his mother and the town he grew up in. Because his mother was such a huge factor in his life, he established the Anne Harrison Endowed Scholarship in memory of his mother.

The scholarship is for USCA students in the fine arts program and has been around for almost four years. Proceeds from Harrison’s artwork and Coca-Cola Calendars benefit the scholarship as well.

Harrison hopes that art lovers will get a sense of peace and nostalgia from their past and that college students will pursue their artistic endeavors through the help of his scholarship.
