They have evaluated the situation and formulated a plan of action for the Baker Place Road closure. Baker Place Road in Columbia County has been closed for all thru traffic, effective immediately. The closure will prevent thru traffic from heading any further north or south along Baker Place Road at the bridge over I-20. Local traffic can still use Baker Place Road from either end, but you will not be able to continue past the overpass.
They have determined the closure will remain in place for the remainder of this week and into next week.
They will begin the repair work Monday, June 29, 2009 and it will take about two to three days to complete. This means the road closure at the bridge over Interstate 20 will continue until at least Thursday, July 2, 2009.
DETOUR INFORMATION:
The detour for northbound traffic will be to travel east on Wrightsboro Road to Chamblin Road. Turn left on Chamblin and continue north to International Parkway. Turn left onto Chamblin Road and continue north to Baker Place Road on the left.
Traveling soutbound, you will continue south on Chamblin Road to International Parkway. Turn right onto Chamblin Road and continue south to Wrightsboro Road. Turn right on Wrightsboro to reach Baker Place Road on the right.
